Online Series: Movement Ritual and Dance Explorations: Slowing down and finding support ~ with Joy Cosculluela

4 Mondays, August 9-30, 10-11:30AM PDT

“Imagine how alive you would be if your kinesthetic sense were to be heightened and cultivated beyond its present consciousness.” –Anna Halprin

In this workshop, participants will explore structured somatic movements devised by Anna Halprin that help relax the mind, expand range of movement, and spark creative expression. We’ll explore movements to help us slow down, reconnect with the ground, and cultivate a feeling of support. Movements are adaptable to each person’s unique being and dance explorations encourage each person’s expression to come through. Drawing and writing enhance and integrate our creative experience.

No dance experience needed. Please have a comfortable space to move and any type of drawing materials on hand.

To get the most out of this online series, please prepare a comfortable space to move in with access to your online device and a reliable internet connection. Also, have art supplies ready at hand for drawing activities, and paper and pen for journaling and creative writing exercises.
