Tamalpa Institute offers a comprehensive professional training program for individuals who wish to incorporate the principles and tools of embodied creativity into their own personal development and professional practices. Graduates of the program apply the Tamalpa Life/Art Process® into such fields as expressive arts therapy, somatics, education, health care, organizational development, community service, and performance.
The training includes experiential exploration through the arts, philosophy, and theory of the practice, and basic maps and methods of the work.
Graduates of the program are awarded the Tamalpa Practitioner Certification, and are eligible for registration as a Movement Therapist/Educator by the International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association (ISMETA). Graduates may also register as an Expressive Arts Therapist or as an Expressive Arts Consultant/Educator by the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association (IEATA). Other students choose to complete the Tamalpa Practitioner Certification concurrently with an M.A or Ph.D. Degree in Psychology through Meridian University or an M.A. or Ph.D. degree in expressive arts through the European Graduate School.
