Taira Restar, MA, RSME
Taira Restar is a movement artist and arts educator with extensive training in visual arts and a MA in Movement Education. She is a graduate of Tamalpa trainings and has studied this work since 1983. Taira is on core faculty for Level I and II training programs at Tamalpa Institute.
For many years, Taira has worked closely with her mentor, Anna Halprin, and is Ms. Halprin's Associate Teacher. A member of The Sea Ranch Collective, Taira has performed under Ms. Halprin's direction and has had the honor of performing with her.
Taira leads classes, workshops and events in the Tamalpa Life/Art Process and in the Halprin approach to adults, children and communities. She has taught at San Francisco State University, Hancock College, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), Oakland Museum, and Esalen Institute.
